Kenya Excursions/Day Trips

We’ll pick you up from your hotel or from the airport at 6:30 am and drive to Nairobi National Park.  Nairobi National Park is a unique and worthy wildlife haven within sight of the city’s skyline (all around the world). Rhinos, buffalos, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, lions, and plenty of antelopes and gazelles can be seen roaming in these open plains. Enjoy the breathtaking skyscrapers view as you explore the wildlife in the park’s broad savannah.

Thereafter proceed to David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. Within the borders of the park lies perhaps the most special animal sanctuary in the world. We’ll visit this unique reserve where rescued baby elephants are saved and nursed back to health. Feeding time is at 11:00 am and we’ll be there to enjoy the sight of dozens of these babies feeding from enormous milk bottles.

After such a heartwarming experience, your next stop will be the Karen Blixen Museum. You will have lunch here. If you’ve seen the movie, “Out of Africa”, you are already familiar with the life of writer, planter and legend Karen Blixen. If not, you’ll learn all about Blixen in her home on this beautiful homestead at the foot of the Ngong Hills. Here Blixen established a coffee plantation in colonial Africa. The museum features artifacts from her life as well as props from the classic movie which was shot close by.

After this journey into history you will end your day at the Giraffe Centre. The Giraffe Center is known for being home to the Rothschild giraffe species. You can climb the high platform and try your hand at feeding one of the towering creatures. If you are lucky, you may get a giraffe kiss!
