Day

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara

Meal Plan:

Lunch, Dinner

Your safari adventure kicks off at 7:00 a.m. with a convenient pickup from your hotel, residence, or the Nairobi airport. You’ll then be transferred to Wilson Airport for your scenic one-hour flight to the Masai Mara. As you soar above Kenya’s vast landscapes, enjoy stunning views that may include the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro and the dramatic cliffs of the Great Rift Valley.

Upon arrival at the Mara airstrip mid-morning, your driver guide will be waiting to welcome you. After helping with your luggage, you’ll board a private, open-roof 4×4 safari Jeep for a short drive to your lodge or tented camp—your first game-viewing experience through the rolling plains and acacia-dotted landscape.

Once you’ve settled in and enjoyed a delicious lunch, your guide will go over the highlights of the reserve and areas you might want to explore. In the afternoon, you’ll embark on your first extended game drive, where you may encounter some of Africa’s legendary “Big Five”: lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo. The Masai Mara boasts one of the richest wildlife ecosystems in Africa, home to over 95 species of mammals.

Your evening will be spent enjoying dinner and unwinding at your chosen safari camp or lodge.

Meal Plan:

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today is yours to fully immerse yourself in the wonders of the Masai Mara. You’ll rise early to catch the golden light of morning and see the wildlife as it becomes active with the new day. You can spend the entire day on game drives, following the rhythms of the wild.

If your visit falls between July and October, you might witness the awe-inspiring Great Migration—a powerful spectacle where thousands of wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River, braving waiting predators like crocodiles, lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the river as you take in the action.

After a day rich with sightings and adventure, return to your camp or lodge for a relaxing evening and hearty dinner under the African sky.
